Joan SULLIVAN Obituary

JOAN VIVIAN SULLIVAN (nee Carruthers) It is with sadness that the Sullivan family announces the gentle and quiet passing of our beloved Mom at home. Predeceased by our father; Michael Edward Sullivan, Q.C. in 1984. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her children Teresa (Kerry Comiskey), Michael (Patti Ann), Peter (Sheila), Maureen (David McNeil) and Mary Joan (Alan Vigneux). Nana to her fourteen grandchildren, Sean (Emily), Hilary (Billy), Heather (Alex); Julie (Peter), Ryan (Andrea), Laura (John); Patrick (Katie), Tim, Brian (Alex); Megan, Caitlin (Victor), Alison; Peter (Dakota) and Cory. GiGi to her eleven great grand-children, Maya, Ben; Ella, Ava; Felicity, Blake, Colby; Berkeley, Sullivan; Jackson; Louis. Predeceased by her sister Dorothy Liddle and her brother Robert Carruthers. Our hearts are broken but we are comforted in knowing Mom's life was full of an abundance of love, both given and received. A private mass will be held in the coming days. A donation to St. Anselm's Church in Joan's name would be greatly appreciated by the family. Three Hail Mary's for a safe trip.

Was very sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. She was a very special lady. I knew your mother through my first wife, Joan Bonany, (nee Peachey). We enjoyed visiting your mother as she always had something interesting going on in her life. I remember with fondness the special times together in Timmins when Joan and her siblings would visit Norm and Edith. Again my sympathies to your family.

Dear Teresa, Michael, Peter , Maureen and Mary Joan,
We were so saddened to her of Nana's passing. She loved her family so much and enjoyed regaling us with your antics. We were her next door neighbours for 7 years and her parties were legendary. Nana always had a smile and warm welcome for everyone. We were blessed to have known such an elegant lady. Remembering you in our prayers, Kent and Kathy Savage

We are all fortunate to have known her.
We will miss her and never forget her.

I remember Aunt Joan as the perfect lady: always well groomed and impeccably dressed. Rules included no white shoes before May 24th or after Labour Day.
I have so many memories of Christmas holidays in Florida with Joan & all the parents enjoying each other's company and the kids' antics. A perennial smile and giggle. That is Aunt Joan to me. I know your abundance of happy memories will sustain you at this sad time and in future. RIP Aunt Joan ❤
