(née Comuzzi) It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joanne Lynda Thomson on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Joanne passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. Joanne is survived by Don, her devoted husband of over 58 years, her children Paula (Tobi) and Ryan; her cherished granddaughters Isabella and Madeleine Reyes; sister-in-law Gail Kamm (Don); and nieces Kiera and Elaine. Joanne was predeceased by her parents John and Maria Comuzzi, her brother William (Bruna), and nephew Billy. A lifelong educator, Joanne served as a teacher-librarian at St. Basil-the-Great College for over 50 years, touching generations of students with her kindness, curiosity, and unwavering dedication to learning. She was also a proud and faithful Minister of the Eucharist, living her values through quiet service. The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville) on Monday, December 15th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church, 24 Cheritan Avenue (Yonge and Lawrence), Toronto on Tuesday, December 16th at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sunnybrook Foundation - Odette Cancer Program (
