I am a friend of Jane Raham’s. She introduced me to your mother many years ago. You might recall that we three, along with my husband Denys, took a spectacular Mediterranean cruise together in 2012. I got to know and appreciate your mom’s many splendid qualities, several of which were mentioned by you and other speakers at Jodi’s service yesterday which I watched livestream beautiful honouring words, scripture and music.

Condolences to her sons. Jodi was an important policy "influencer" before that word even existed. She was the consummate professional with high integrity, strategic insight tempered with a strong humane vision of what Canada could be....and, a wonderful sense of humor. Our contact diminished after I left Ottawa in 1990 but I remember her with fondness and admiration.

Thankfully, we have wonderful memories to cherish of our travels together to France, our regular "ladies lunches" and our time at the family home in North Harley where we spent happy hours discussing the political happenings across Canada and the world, childhood memories of Toronto and, of course, our beloved children. Always happy and thoughtful times. We will miss you, Jodi.

Jodi led the way for so many of us in our political careers. She offered sound advice, a word of caution when necessary, and a shared laugh on long days. I had the pleasure of continuing to see Jodi in her many other roles. She was always up for a reminisce but also a great catch up on the issues of the day.

Maya Angelou: "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." People will long remember what Jodi said, and what she did - she made me feel, as she did with so many others, respected, appreciated and cared for. How lucky we all were to have her in our lives, and how we will miss her presence.

Jodi was an amazing person on every level, such a great loss. She was an incredible leader, who was kind and generous with those she mentored and shared her wisdom. In fond memory of a great woman whom I was honoured to have as my Chief of Staff. The photo on this site captures her readiness to smile - either in a warm greeting or with her wonderful sense of humour- even in the bleakest circumstances .Jodi´s competence and passion to do good things have touched so many people and organizations, but anyone who believes in the value of democratic government owes a vote of thanks to Jodi. She was a consummate "mechanic of the machinery of government". When she served as Joe Clark´s Chief of Staff in External Affairs she was known as the best Chief of Staff on the Hill. In that role as well as in my PMO she was the first woman to be CoS. She was a role model and a mentor. Although our paths crossed only rarely over the past decades, we were always happy to greet and catch up. She continued to be a force for good- the kind of person who helps to feed your optimism in difficult times.

Jodi was a force. I had the pleasure of working with her on the Action Canada public policy and leadership fellowship program, and I was so taken by her pragmatism, lifelong commitment to Canada and its next generation of leaders, and her valuable expertise. She went out of her way to mentor and engage individuals where she saw potential, and she did so with good humour and grace. She will be missed.

Elle m´a appris énormément sur tous les enjeux des relations gouvernementales et sur la stratégie.
