John ARCHAMBAULT Obituary
JOHN K. ARCHAMBAULT Passed away, peacefully, with his two children, Patrick and Caroline, by his bedside on October 21, 2009 at the age of seventy-one. John will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was known for his keen intellect and his boundless sense of curiosity and enthusiasm which naturally drew others to him. Most importantly, he will always be remembered by those close to him as a warm and passionate soul, who took tremendous joy in being in the company of others and whose generosity seemed to know no limit. Born in Montreal to Katherine Kenehan Choquette and Bernard Archambault, he schooled at Princeton, completed his law degree at the Universite de Montreal and was called to the Quebec Bar in 1966. In 1973 he was appointed General Counsel of Trans Canada Pipelines where he pursued a distinguished career as Senior Vice-President. He returned to Montreal in 1980 as Executive Vice President of Trans Quebec and Maritimes. He was later appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Great Lakes Gas Transmission in Michigan. He returned home in 1994, where he spent the rest of his life surrounded by his family and friends. We would like to express our deepest appreciation to our mother, Michele Dufour, who took incredible care of our father during his long illness. We would like to extend our gratitude to the caring staff of Le Centre d'Hebergement des Seigneurs in Montreal for the outstanding dedication and compassion they showed in caring for John throughout his last years.
