JOHN JARVIS CARSON Died Sunday June 15, 2008 peacefully and surrounded by loved ones at the Montfort Hospital after a brief and rapid decline in health. John was predeceased by his wife, Elspeth Herbert. Much beloved by his children Elizabeth (Ian Hutton), John (Elisa Barbarese), Faith (Barry Bellamy), Deborah (Ted Tunis), Daniel (Brenda Lillico), Kitty (Wayne Corey), his companion-caregiver Derrick Nazareth, and his grandchildren Dianna, Towani and Pascale, Philippe, Aaron, Leah, Adam, Matthew, Carson, Alexander, Eve, Benjamin, and great grandchildren, Xavion, Mahalia, Carson, Clea, Natasha, Daniel, Joseph and Elizabeth as well as his Rolston and Herbert nieces and nephews. John grew up in Vancouver, served in the Canadian Army during WWII. He worked at Woods Gordon, Ontario Hydro, BC Electric, Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Dean of the Faculty of Management at Ottawa U. John was a keen cottager on the Sunshine Coast, Muskoka and Heney Lake Quebec. He was an Officer of the Order of Canada and received honourary degrees. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Thursday, June 19th, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the McGar ry Family Reception Centre. Thanks to Lorne Parent of the Sandy Hill Community Health Care and staff of Montfort. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the University of Ottawa or the Parkinson Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
