JOHN COULTER Obituary

Facing his illness with courage and conviction, John Emerson Coulter, P.Eng. ('71), at St. Michael's Hospital on October 26, 2024. Cherished husband of 44 years to wife, Judith (nee Bramwell). Proud father and much-loved dad to Aram Coulter (Michael) and Carolyn Fuller (Jay), who were of great support. Grandpa to adored grandson, Jackson Fuller; loving brother to sisters, Jane Turgeon (Eugene), Anne Palmer (John) and Bruce Coulter (Lois). John was a man of many interests, including geology, music and travel. He loved spending time at the cottage with family and friends whether on Lake Muskoka or Skootamatta. He could often be found swimming, boating, hiking and enjoying nature. John was a storyteller, problem solver and caring person to those fortunate enough to spend time with him. At work, he was a well-respected founding principal of J.E. Coulter Associates Limited. His decades-long profession brought him immense joy being both a consultant and mentor. Our thanks go out to his office family who meant so much to him. A special thank you to FP Dr. Leigh Grant and the caring, compassionate staff at Revera (Venvi) Leaside and SMH who made his journey a peaceful one. Celebration of Life will follow at a later date, but if desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Lewy Body Dementia Research Fund in John's name.

I only met John once for a little over a week. I have wished so many times since that I could spend more time with him. I think of him as one of the most wonderful people I have ever met and I so wish there were more of him!

My condolences to John´s family. The Coulter family were neighbours of our family, the Corrigans in Scarborough. The many memories of our families and many neighbours spending time together put a smile on my face. I can only hope that have many happy memories of John which you share with eachother to ease your loss. Vilda(Corrigan)

Sad to hear of his struggle and passing. I remember John as a classmate at Mackie, then Laurier. He was a kind, intelligent person who sang beautifully. May he rest in peace.
