Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Professor John Davis. I took his course on Personal and Professional Values at OISE. He graciously encouraged me to practice self-love - a new concept to me since my Brownie Guide training encouraged me to "Think of others before myself and do a good turn every day". I was surprise to learn of his passing today when I googled his name as well as his mutual interest in church music and resolving ethical dilemmas. He passed on my birthday. I will certainly continue my gentle conversations with him by reading the books he authored.

Please accepted my sincere condolences on the passing of the esteemed OISE Professor John Davis. I am grateful to have been one of his students in the doctoral course on Personal and Professional ethics at OISE. I share his interests in church music and resolving dilemmas. He graciously encouraged me to practice self-love - Twas a new concept to me at the time since my Brownie Guide training encouraged me to "Think of others before myself and do a good turn every day". Coincidentally, he transitioned on my birthday.

I took a doctoral course in Personal and Professional Values with Professor Davis. He encouraged me to practice self-love. A concept I had heard for the first time in my life. My Brownie Guide Training from the age of 6 years taught me to "Think of others before myself and to do a good turn every day".

I worked at OISE for 40 years and John was someone I knew and respected for many of those years. I considered John a friend, many great conversations over the years with this wonderful man. I had not remained in touch and am very saddened to learn of John's passing. My condolences to Margaret, Michael, Colin and all of the family. RIP dear John
