JOHN DE BOER
June 28, 1939 - August 30, 2013
Passed away unexpectedly near the family cottage in Port Carling, Ontario.

Beloved husband to Nell for more than 52 years. Best ever Dad and Opa to Anthony and Linda de Boer (John Robert, Mathias, Amanda), Margo and Scott Murley (Sarah, Anneke, Christopher, Michael, John-Peter), John David and Nyla-Jean de Boer (Julia, Jacob, Jonella, Gerrit, Lucinda), Suanne and Adrian Miedema, Tim and Michelle de Boer (Peter, Audrey, William). Dear brother of Betsy de Boer and Ross Redfern, Bruce and Christine de Boer, Gerrit and Nancy de Boer, Theo and Mary de Boer and Margaret de Boer and Harry Huyer. Will be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and his beloved Tante Timmy.
Longtime owner of DeBoer's Furniture, founding member of Willowdale Christian Reformed Church, and active member of Willowdale Rotary Club for many years. Known by many people and organizations for his generous and kind spirit, a loyal friend and mentor to many. His love for travel took him to more than 150 countries. He was constantly singing or humming.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 4th at 2 p.m. at Willowdale Christian Reformed Church, 70 Hilda Avenue, North York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rotary International's End Polio Now campaign, World Renew (formerly CRWRC) or World Vision Canada. Condolences www.rskane.ca
