in 1968, John and Annie took us into their home for six weeks while John Ulinder and I trained for the Mexico Olympics in the coxless pair event. We painted their house that summer and refused to take any payment from John. When we opened our suitcases in Mexico we each found an envelope of cash in full payment for our work. We have never forgotten their kindness.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. I had the privilege of working with John, just prior to his retirement. He was a happy soul. Always professional and well respected by all.
He will be missed.

Dear Dewar family, so sorry to hear of John’s passing, he and your mother were such great friends to the Shultis family, the times at three mile lake are a lasting memory we will never forget. I’m so glad our parents got to share their life journey together, your father will be missed by us all. Love Tim, Julie and boys
