I am sorry for your loss. John was a great leader, as well as a great human being. When I was a grocery manager in the Milton A&P, John would visit often, usually to pick up something to drop off at Carolyn's, who lived down the street from the store. She was also a neighbour of mine, as I lived a few doors away from her. John would always stop and talk to me. He valued my opinion on business matters, which impressed me, as I was just a little guy in a large company. As a store manager now with Metro, I talk to all my employees, not as Manager to employee, but as co-workers. John taught me that everyone has value to offer. He willed be missed.

We join so many others in mourning the loss of John. We wish as well to celebrate the man: a contributing and prominent member of the Irish and larger Canadian communities who supported an astonishingly broad range of events and organizations in great style, always impeccably turned-out, with a kind word, ready smile and warm greeting. A man, in short, of real class and generosity of spirit. To Gail, Carolyn, Sean and the family, we send condolences on the loss of one of the very finest.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the extended Dunne family & also to John´s close friends.
Our prayers are with you all at this sad time.

John as a leader in the Irish Community always focused on the underdog and persons in need of uplifting, and his kind ways were hard to miss. Thank you John for the many lessons you taught us well through your gentle mannerisms and powerful words. You were a strong leader and a quiet man so when you spoke, we all listened. Yours was a life well lived and your memory will endure.

Remembering the kindness of John and opening their house to Sean and all his University friends (me being one of them) for some great times and pool parties in the backyard. Always tons of great food and laughs. His generosity and kindness always made us feel welcome. He had a special class about him that always made everyone look up to him when he walked in a room. Thank you John for these great memories..You will be missed. Love Lisa Miller
