EDDY, John Fraser At his home in Bradenton, Florida, January 10, 2008, at the age of 56, of cancer. He leaves his wife Susan (née Rouse), son Ian Lenihan, stepdaughter Martha Bowes, granddaughter Mya, mother Isabel, siblings Catherine, Bruce (Shelagh), Mary Jane (Dan) and Richard (Sue) and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Robert and his sister Caroline.
Born in Bathurst, New Brunswick on May 17, 1951, John attended J.Gordon Chalmers School in Bathurst, Bishop's College School in Lennoxville, Quebec, the University of New Brunswick and the University of British Columbia. He practiced law in Vancouver until 1990 when he moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick to begin a new career in the radio business. At the time he became ill, he was Executive Vice-President of Astral Media Radio Atlantic.
John will be remembered by his family and his many friends and colleagues for the sense of humour, generosity and imagination he brought to all his endeavours whether in business, sports, travel or day-to-day living. An avid golfer, John was a member of Capillano Golf Club in Vancouver and Gowan Brae Golf Club in Bathurst.
Friends may call at McAdams Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, on Friday, January 25, from 3:30-6:30 pm to meet with the family. The funeral service will be held at Christ Church Parish Church, 245 Westmorland Street, Fredericton, on Saturday, January 26, at 2:00 pm.
