I was sad to read of John's passing. As a child friend of John (Jr) when the family lived on Masters Road in the 1960's, I recall the kindness of the Gable family including me in many activities and bringing me to the Fleming Drive home to play. My sincere condolences to Lee Anne, Karen, John (Jr), Paul and your Mom.

Lee Anne, I’m so very sorry to hear about the passing of your father. My condolences to you and all of your family. I remember your dad as an energetic, thoughtful man who loved life to the fullest. He was always most welcoming to me at your house, cottage, and Florida. Thanks to him we had some great times together. His life will live on in your children and all your family. Take care.

Just now became aware of the passing of JG. Truly one of the more astounding Bay Street people I ever had the pleasure of working with.

John was one of the greatest human beings I have ever known. I knew him for several years and he was my boss for six years. What a great guy. Sadly I did not keep in touch the last several years. Now it is too late but you will be in my memory forever.

My uncle was the coolest cat, one of the truly great guys. Built an amazing career and had an equally amazing family and family life. I always admired him. I knew when he said to someone ‘You did good, kid’ that it was straight from the heart. Back at you, Uncle John. You did good.
My thoughts and love to Aunt Barb, LeeAnne, Karen, John and Paul and their families.

Please accept my deepest sympathy as you celebrate John’s life . What an amazing person; I feel so blessed to have had him as a mentor and friend. My favourite memories are lunches with John and Mrs. G; enjoying their humour, wise counsel and witnessing their love for each other. Everyone who knows John is aware that his family was his pride and joy. May the memories of John bring you all comfort and peace.

I was very sorry to learn of Uncle John’s passing. My memories of John are that of a joyful, impulsive, generous and caring man. He was very devoted to his family and relatives. My sisters an I recalled the Gables visiting the Thompsons in Sudbury in his new turquoise Chevrolet convertible, taking us for rides x driving “no hands” - one of many fun and memorable times. Jan joins with me to offer our condolences to Aunt Barbara, cousins LeeAnne, Karen, John and Paul. God bless each of you in your grief, and may your memories be blessings for you now and always.
