JOHN DAVID GODDARD
Passed away suddenly at the age of 67 on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at his residence in Toronto. John is survived and fondly remembered by his long- time partner MoHon Ang and her extended family. He is the much- loved only son of the late Dr. John and Helen Goddard of Hensall; loving brother of the late Beth Jamieson (Doug), Peg Mock (Dennis) and Joan Goddard (Eric). Sadly missed by his nephews, Jeff Mock and Scott Jamieson; his niece, Heather Allan-Jamieson and their extended families. Dr. Goddard enjoyed a distinguished career as a professor, scholar and scientist. After his post-doctoral studies, he joined the Dept. of Chemistry at the University of Guelph in 1983 and became a full professor in 1992. He was an active researcher in theoretical chemistry with over 130 publications, an accomplished teacher and mentor for both undergraduate and graduate students and responsively held a number of administrative positions at the Dept. and College levels. Dr. Goddard retired in 2012 with Professor Emeritus Status. Cremation has taken place and the interment will be held in the spring at the Union Cemetery in Hensall.
