HALIBURTON, John (Jack) Charles
The loving husband of Holly for 53 years, and the devoted father of Jackie and Jim, left us peacefully on September 9. He is survived by his son-in-law Neal Hall and his children Eli, Rachael and Becky. He is survived by his brothers Alex and Bill and their many wonderful children and grand-children. Jack truly had a fulling and blessed life. Born in Toronto in 1916, he was an RCAF pilot and flight instructor in WW II. After the war he moved to Calgary to start the Campbell & Haliburton real estate firm, which developped and sold new homes. He later lived in Edmonton before settling in West Vancouver in 1956, where he built many homes in the Glenmore area, donated 45 acres for a park and ran his mergers and acquisitions business, later expanding to Los Angeles. Jack touched many lives in both Vancouver and LA. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jack's life on Sunday, September 20 at 4 p.m. at the Masonic Hall at 1763 Bellevue, West Vancouver. The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care and support of Dr. Robert Scott, Dr. Tsang and the nursing staff of the Vancouver General Hospital intensive-care unit, as well as Dr Cunningham, Dr Low and the nursing staff of the intensive-care unit at Lions Gate Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the Jack Haliburton Environmental Award of Excellence is being established to recognize students and community members who have contributed to protecting and preserving our local and global enivronments. Donations can be made payable to Sea Spray, noting the donation is earmarked for the Growing Awareness Environmental Fund in the name of Jack Haliburton.
