HARRIS, John (Jack) Edmund, QC
Quietly passed away at home on February 27, 2010, in Oakville, Ontario in his 89th year.
Jack will be missed greatly by his wife Leta, children Deborah (Greg Walker) and John as well as grandchildren Brock, Laura, Sam, Matthew and Miranda, step-children Karen, Paul and William, step grandchildren Craig and Jamie. Jack is predeceased by his first wife of 48 years, Muriel Grace (Bubbles).
Jack was a dedicated lawyer who graduated from Dalhousie University and had practiced law for more than 60 years. Jack had been a Flight Lieutenant in the RCAF as well a dedicated volunteer to the City of Mississauga through his work in Hockey, Lacrosse, the Planning Board as well as the Mississauga Hospital Foundation.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, 'Oakville Chapel' on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Jack's life will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Jack's memory to the Trillium Health Centre Foundation, Mississauga. A book of memories may be signed at
