John LABONTE-SMITH Memoriam

JOHN (Jack) LABONTE-SMITH July 21, 1926 - December 27, 2020 Hunter, trapper and miner, nature lover and artist, Jack was an enchanting raconteur of his true life adventures. He moved East from BC to enroll in OCADU to study art. After graduation, he co-founded the Hayter Gallery, assisted York Wilson in painting The Seven Lively Arts mural for the O'Keefe Centre (Meridian Hall) then joined OCADU as an instructor. Jack lived on the Toronto Island with his beloved wife, Gail; and their daughters, Laura and Karen.
