John LATIMER Memoriam
JOHN R. LATIMER October 13, 1930- April 22, 2003 "Be great people -- not just good, but great" In loving memory of John "Chief" Latimer. It is crazy to think it has been 20 years since our last goodbye. But you would be proud to know that your legacy lives on in your children, grandchildren, and the thousands of people who were lucky to call you a friend or mentor. In his dedication to young people, he served on many school boards, was active in camp associations, and youth charities. Among many roles, was Headmaster of Royal St. George's College, a founder of Amici Children's Camp Charity and a co-founder of Greenwood College School with his son David. Named after his mother, the school was a life-long dream fufilled, and has succeded beyond his greatest expectation. John's true passion was Kilcoo Camp, which he and his partner and best friend, Peggy, owned and directed for over 40 years. Among his achievements, his greatest joy in life was his family and friends. Thank you, John, for continuing to inspire through your legacy. We are raising an R&G to you tonight.
