MORROW, John David M.D., F.R.C.P.(C)
Died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, August 26, 1999. Beloved husband and best friend of Edith Patterson Whicher (Pat) for 53 years; doting father of Joanne of Ottawa; Elizabeth Mathew (Richard) of Cambridge; Rosalind and Catherine of Toronto. Loving brother of Donald (Sheila) of Thornhill, and the late Miriam. Proud Papa to Clea (Sean Gocher), Christos and Adèle Gigantes; Eric, Paul and Anna Mathew; Jocelyn, Paula and Lauren Hamilton and Great-Grandpapa to Mirah Gocher. Dr. Morrow graduated from the University of Western Ontario Medical School in 1946, and continued his studies with residencies and fellowships at the Montreal General Hospital, Cornell University, and George Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. In 1953 he was asked to join the faculty of medicine at the University of Toronto and the cardiology staff of Toronto General Hospital, where he remained for 39 years until his retirement in 1992. His long career included the Ontario Medical Association Glenn Sawyer Award in 1988 in recognition of service to the profession and community. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME-A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (South of Eglinton Avenue East) from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 1999. 2:30 O'CLOCK A reception will be held in the Leaside Room of the funeral home following the service. The family respectfully declines flowers. Contributions to a scholarship in the name of John D. Morrow for graduate work in cardiology will be gratefully received. Donations should be sent to the John D.
