John Paré

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of John Pare? on August 6, 2024, at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary; and will be greatly missed by son, Steven (Lina); and daughter, Susan (Sergei Drobner), both of Oakville. He was a loving grandad to Julia, Michael, David and Sarah. John was predeceased by his parents, Lucien and Bessie; and brothers, Ed (Penny) and Lou; and survived by sister-in-law, Marilyn. Born in Timmins, John went to the University of Western Ontario in London, where he met Mary. As John built his career, work brought them to Hamilton, Burlington, Sarnia, Winnipeg and Oakville, where they made many friends. John was a successful HR executive across a diverse array of industries and companies, including McDonnell Douglas, Petrosar, Richardson Greenshields, and Central Guaranty Trust. He and Mary were both avid golfers, with the golf club as the centre of their social life – particularly the Sarnia G&CC and Wyldewood Golf Club. In later years, John cared patiently and compassionately for Mary while she lived with Alzheimer's.
