John Frederick Rawn
John passed away on May 5, 2017, in his 71st year. Beloved partner of Gareth Evans and dear son of the late Robert Garnet and Anna Bernice (nee Kidd) Rawn. Nephew of Doreen and Ruth Kidd. Brother of Brian (Joyce) and the late Douglas, and brother in law of Rosanne Rawn. Favorite uncle to Michael Bray, Jason Rawn, Jennifer Doney, Kimberley Williams, Julie Rawn, Jeffrey Rawn, and many wonderful great nephews and nieces. John retired 23 years ago from Air Canada, where he developed his love of travel. He had a lifelong passion for the outdoors. He biked and hiked throughout the world. He loved kayaking, gardening and golfing. John was keenly interested in people, with his encyclopedic memory of his own family and that of all his friends. He made the world seem more special through his remarkable ability to describe everyday events and people with wit and colour. His love of life and good humour was perhaps best reflected by his infectious laugh which brought out the best in us all and lit up every room he entered. He will be sorely missed. At John's request there will be no funeral or memorial service. Cremation has taken place.
