SPEARING, John Sidney S.F.C.A., Flight Lieutenant R.A.F.V.R. World War II, Navigator #487 N.Z. Mosquito Squadron
On Sunday, August 10, 2003 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton. Beloved husband of the late Joyce Spearing (1992), remembered with love by his daughter Caroline & her husband Larry Rice, daughter Holly, all of Toronto, and daughter Jane & her husband Ken Lorenz, grandchildren Jesse John & Emily Kate, all of Delta, B.C., brothers Eric & Colin both of the U.K., & dear friend Audrey Hartwell of Dundas. Before retirement, John was president of Steetley Industries Limited. He was an honorary life member of the Salvation Army, & member of the Hamilton Golf & County Club. He pursued his love of fly fishing through memberships in the Caledon Mountain Trout Club, the Islay Farm Fishing Club & annual trips to the Dean River, B.C. Friends will be received at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home, ANCASTER CHAPEL, 378 Wilson St. E., Ancaster on Thursday, August 14th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service at St. John's Anglican Church, 272 Wilson St. E., Ancaster on Friday, August 15th at 2:00 p.m. Interment at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the V.O.N., 414 Victoria Ave. N., Hamilton, ON, L8L 5G8 would be greatly appreciated.
