John TATLOW Obituary

JOHN W. T. TATLOW John W. T. Tatlow of Chester, Nova Scotia passed away on April 22, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. John was born August 21, 1950 in Bristol, England to Dr. William F. T. Tatlow and Anne D. Tatlow (née Taylor). The family immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1952. John spent much of his school holidays and later young adult life on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas where he made lifelong friends. John graduated from Westmount High School in 1967 and attended McGill University in the fall of 1967. John's summer job at a Montreal brokerage firm proved to be more exciting than his medical school studies and he was offered a full time position at Jones Heward which began an illustrious and very successful career in the world of finance. He became a partner and subsequently moved to Toronto in 1978. During his career as a stock broker, he was also a partner at Nesbitt Burns Frye and Richardson and Greenshields. John and Dolce, his wife of 30 years, retired to Chester, Nova Scotia in July, 2000. They quickly became part of the community through many volunteer and benevolent activities. John and Dolce became members of the Chester Yacht Club and were very involved in many ways. John loved to spend hours in his Boston Whaler exploring the shores around Chester. He is survived by his wife, Dolce (née McKibbon) and three sisters, Susan Tatlow Rogers (Tim) of Hudson, Quebec and Sally Tatlow Kennedy (Rod) of Vernon, BC and Rebecca Tatlow Whatley (Ralph) of Salt Lake City, Utah. A celebration of life will be decided at a future date.
