Died Saturday night, September 9, 2006 at the West Island Palliative Care Residence in Kirkland, Quebec at the age of seventy- nine after a long struggle with cancer. Beloved husband and friend of Joan (Sheppard) for 53 years. Much loved and admired father of Gary (Michelle, Danny & Christine), Neil (Joshua & Tommy), and Caroline (Jonathan, Ashley & Nicholas). Brother of the late Edgar (Laurina), Norman (Diane), Rita (Masson), Viola (Labrosse) and Irene (Gaudet). The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to all the nurses, volunteers and staff of the West Island Palliative Care Residence who helped make Joe's final few months so much better. Memorial service will take place at Collins Clarke Funeral Home in Pointe-Claire, Quebec on Saturday, September 23, 2006. Visitation at 3 p.m., Service at 4 p.m. Burial will occur in Grand Digue, New Brunswick in the fall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Island Palliative Care Residence in Joe's name would be appreciated.
