BERTHIER, Josephine (Jo)
age 79 years, died peacefully in her sleep at home in Somerset House in Victoria, BC on January 7, 2000. Jo left Niagra-On-The-Lake, Ontario over 20 years ago, shortly after the death of her much loved parents and her beloved husband, Pierre, to make her home in Victoria. Jo actively embraced her new life pursuing her many hobbies and offering her services where needed as a volunteer. She was an enthusiastic horticulturist and a loyal supporter of the Arts. Jo's passionate interest was in the field of education. Through her tireless efforts and heartfelt generosity she made it possible for many students to further their studies. Jo's legacy will be her ongoing generous contributions in the field of Art, horticulture, medical research and education. A funeral service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, Quadra Street at Rockland Avenue in Victoria on Friday, January 14, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. Josephine will be sorely missed by her many friends across the country. Flowers gratefully declined in favour of donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
