JUDITH ANDREWS Obituary
(nee Ogilvie, October 28, 1937 - February 21, 2026) Our beloved Jude died peacefully, on February 21, 2026, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born in Montreal to parents, Bartlett and Ruth Ogilvie, Jude was the second youngest of five siblings, Sandrea (d.), Michael (d.), Margaret and Sister Caro John. Jude and the family spent many happy summers in North Hatley in the Eastern Townships, Quebec. Jude met the love of her life, Schofield "Scho" Andrews Jr. (d.2020), in NYC. Married in 1969, they had 50 wonderful years together. Jude was a devoted stepmother to Scho's four children, Mary Stair Andrews, Schofield Andrews III (Elly), Lilian F. B. Andrews (Gordon Beck) and Laurence F. B. Andrews (Deborah). Inseparable as a couple, their passion for learning, world travels, adventure and nature shaped their lives. Jude was petite and a dynamo, managing to keep up with Scho on fast paced cross-country skis and hikes. Jude lived with Scho in Northeast Harbour, Maine, for many years. They moved west to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and their final move was in 2002 to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, so Jude could be close to her family. Jude made each house a home, one that was organized, welcoming and full of laughter. A voracious non-fiction reader, Jude was quick to put her book aside to chat and share a cup of tea or glass of wine and always a laugh (or two). Generous, thoughtful and curious, she looked for ways to help others and boost their spirits. Jude was particularly close to her nieces, Victoria and Julia, and to Victoria's husband, Lance. The family is profoundly grateful to Lance for his devotion to Scho and Jude and for all that he did for them. In addition, they would like to thank the caring staff at Parkland at the Gardens in Halifax for Jude's final two years when assisted care was essential. Arrangements are entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. 3, Lunenburg. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring. Jude will be buried beside Scho in a private interment service at the Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
