JUDITH SHEILA KATHARINE JAQUES (nee Driscoll) August 3, 1933 - May 22, 2023 Judy grew up in Montreal West, with her sister Martha (Driscoll) Matheson and their parents Winona and Fred Driscoll. Judy made a name for herself at Montreal West High School, excelling at badminton, which became a life-long passion; and public speaking, for which she won many awards. Judy graduated from McGill University in 1954, but while she attended her undergrad classes, she met and fell headlong for the love of her life, Maurice "Mo" Jaques, from Westmount, Montreal. Their romance flourished, even though Judy worked summers out west at Jasper Park Lodge, and Mo's job kept him in Montreal. They were married on June 28, 1955, and were forever happily married for the past 68 years. Judy and Mo built their life together on the West Island of Montreal, in a beautiful lakeside home, until they moved to Toronto in 2019. As well as her adoring husband, Mo; Judy leaves behind her family of three children, Fred (Janet), Jennifer (Alan) and Jim (Michele); six grandchildren, Alexandra (Ryan), Gillian (Alex), Matti (Steph), Kate (Victoria), Michael and Andrew; and one great-granddaughter, Quinn. Judy had many friends from all walks of her life, and she did love to walk, ice skate and rollerblade! For a time, in Pointe Claire in the mid 90's, Judy was known to the locals as "roller-blading Granny". She was a fun-loving, active, and highly intelligent person, sharing her love of literature with many students over the years as their English teacher at West Island College. "Mrs. Jaques" had a passion for teaching and it thrilled her to see her students learn. Judy loved a good party, was a truly great hostess, and could often be heard belting out tunes while Mo accompanied her on the piano, late into the night. She was famous in her inner circle for her rendition of Titanic, or any song by Patsy Cline. Her lively conversations, witty observations and non-stop action-packed lifestyle, will leave a larger-than-life hole in our lives. Details about a Celebration of Life will be made at a future date. Then, little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived, and that your life gave us memories too beautiful to ever forget.' - Anonymous
