Judith MAGNEY Obituary

Judith Magney (Strachan), born November 4, 1944, in Michigan, died of heart failure at home on April 22, 2024. Predeceased by parents, Jean and Howard Strachan; brother, Norman (Linda); and ex-husband, William Magney. Judy grew up on a farm and apple orchard, completed nursing college, married, and moved to Toronto. She worked as a nurse in many capacities and coordinated community care. Helping others in their final phase of life was important for her, she volunteered at the Dorothy Ley Hospice for 27 years. Judy loved reunions and celebrations. A passionate gardener of flowers, plants and vegetables, she gardened everywhere she lived. Judy loved hiking, camping, visiting natural spaces, hot air balloon rides, reading, travelling, yoga, music, art, crafts, theatre, music, poetry, celebrating holidays, social clubs, and playing cards. An avid Unitarian, she believed deeply in community and that all people matter. Memorial at Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel.

Only just learned of Judy passing, sharing a pic of her and my mom (Indu)that was taken in the summer of 2023. Judy was a wonderful friend to my mom and I was so sad to learn of her passing. My deepest condolences.
