JULIE ROSE ELIZABETH TURCSANYI

JULIE TURCSANYI Obituary

With deepest heartbreak, we share the passing of our beloved Julie Rose Elizabeth Turcsanyi, who left us far too soon on Monday, September 15, 2025, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto, at the age of 38. Julie was never overly formal, but always simply, beautifully, herself. She loved nature, birdwatching, drawing and spending time with family at the cottage. She was the cherished daughter of Angela Barnes and the late John Joseph Turcsanyi (2004), who also passed from cancer. Julie will be profoundly missed by her sister, Alexa Barkley (Scott); her brother, Stephen Turcsanyi (Robyn); and by her adored nieces and nephews: Oliver, Sophie, and Cameron Barkley, and Adelaide ("Addy") Turcsanyi. She will also be remembered with love by her extended family. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Joseph's Hospital, especially the oncology team, for their care and compassion. Special gratitude goes to Maria Barnes, Claire Barnes, Carolyn Giroux, and Mimico Baptist Church for their support during this difficult time. We are left struggling with the unfairness of a world where cruelty, greed, racism, and sexism persist, while someone as kind and giving as Julie has been taken from us. Our comfort is knowing that she is now free from pain, in a place of peace - and surely surrounded by endless skies to fill with her drawings. Funeral arrangements will be shared at a later date.
