Julier GLAZIER Obituary

JULIE ANN GLAZIER May 2, 1947 - August 9, 2022 Julie Ann Glazier (Couch) passed away peacefully with loved ones at her side at the Bridgepoint Hospital after bravely succumbing to metastasized cancer. For 52 years, Julie was the much-loved wife of Robert David Glazier, dearly beloved mother of Jeremy Hawthorne Glazier, loving sister of Naomi Blackwell (Bob), Dr. John Couch (Dr. Ellen Smith) and the late Lynn Walker (Mike). She will be much missed by her cherished friends, Marsha Pine, Gillda Leitenberg and Brian Day. Special thanks to family physician, Dr. Stephen Rotstein, and the palliative team and staff at Princess Margaret Hospital and Bridgepoint. Born in Mount Forest, Ontario, to Dr. Aaron Couch and Charlotte Couch (Hawthorne), Julie was a longtime resident of Toronto. She was a devoted teacher and school librarian who loved her time with her students. She was an avid reader, choir member, music lover from Dylan to Wagner, enthusiastic traveller, walker and swimmer at her very special place, Southampton, Ontario. She was also a dedicated Women's Auxiliary volunteer at Sick Kids for 20 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Women's Auxiliary Volunteers Organization at Sick Kids, the Toronto Public Library or Doctors Without Borders. A Celebration of Julie's Life will be held for family and friends at Morley Bedford Funeral Services, 159 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto on Tuesday, August 23 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Dear Ms Glazier. I have been looking for you for years but only was able to find you here alas. It´s so sad that I missed the chance to meet with you again. You were my grade 5 teacher and choir teacher. My passion for singing and confidence came from you as I now am a professional singer as well. I remember your beautiful blond straight hair, your bright colourful dresses, your pretty smile, your sweet singing voice and practicing and conducting our wonderful songs which became concerts.

Thank you for the wonderful memories and for being my grade 5 teacher and for believing in my voice. RIP

I am saddened to hear of Julie's passing. We were colleagues at Regent Park school in the 70's. She was a true professional and passionate about language and literature teaching. She was a tremendous support to my classroom program , funnelling a endless series of well chosen books my oral strorytime. As a colleague she was bright and witty with a fine sense of humour. I am glad to have known her.
