June GRAHAM Obituary
GRAHAM, June
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, June 26, 1920, died in Kingston, Ontario, August 26, 2012. Daughter of the late James Richard Graham, Toronto, and the late Hildred Stuart Ross Graham, Toronto. Beloved sister and great companion of Rosemary Graham. June graduated in Philosophy and Political Science from Bishop's University, where she enjoyed acting and directing in theatrical productions. Determined on a career in journalism, after graduating she became the Associate Editor of Women's Activities at the Montreal Star. After WW II, she joined her family in Toronto, and worked as a Writer-Editor at the CBC for 38 years. Her writing style could brighten the most mundane with whimsy, and her newspaper experience was evident in her meticulous accuracy. With her interviews, both written and on air, her quiet demeanor, impeccable manners and sensitive understanding disarmed the most reluctant guest. Always tastefully dressed, she was known for her quick wit, amusing observations, insistence of fair play, and loyalty. Behind her quiet manner was great strength. Private funeral arrangements.
