Kathryn HULL Obituary
KATHERINE ELIZABETH HULL September 23, 1961 - October 24, 2023 Kate passed peacefully with Ruth, loving partner of 33 years, by her side. Survived by siblings, Rebecca Faber (Brenton) of Worcester, MA. and Iain Graham of Barrie. Predeceased by Mum, Elizabeth Graham 2012. Beloved sister-in-law to Faye and Enzo Ingribelli and to nephews, Vince & Nicholas. Treasured daughter-in-law to Anna Jamieson and Ronald Olivier. Kate retired in Oct 2022 from a career as Assistant Crown Attorney, first in Parry Sound, and then in the Barrie office starting 1997. Loved and admired by Crowns, Defense, Judges, Support Staff, Police and countless others whose lives were touched by her competent, caring and intelligent approach to all aspects of her career. Her dry sense of humour, ready wit, and remarkable knowledge were a welcome addition to staff meetings and teaching conferences. Kate was part of a team instrumental in developing the Domestic Violence Team in Simcoe County and helped to established the Mental Health Court. Kate held the Deputy Crown position for 18 months, and was relied on for her legal knowledge, judgement, decency, and fulfilled the role with grace and skill. Despite health challenges, Kate persisted bravely with a determination infused with quiet resolve. Diagnosed with MS in 2005, breast cancer in 2009, and Glioblastoma March 2022. Special thanks to Dr. Farhad Pirouzmand, Neurosurgeon; James Perry, Neuro-Oncologist; Dr. Hany Soliman, Radiation Oncologist; and the staff at Sunnybrook Hospital. Further thanks go to Barrie Neurologist, Dr. Maher, Sara Desroches and Gilda's Stage 4 Group. Pages could be filled listing all the caring, generous friends, co-workers, family and caregivers who jumped in and continued to help throughout the many months. Gratitude and love to you all.
