KW was a great friend. We taught together at Newtonbrook for years. He always called me his mentor because he only taught History and then, he was told to teach Law, because there were too many classes. He had such a wry sense of humour. His favourite phrase: "Not bloody likely!" I spoke to him last about 2 months ago and he sounded
very frail. He said then he wasn´t getting out much. He came to our home several times for dinner and my husband would pick him up at the subway station because he never learned to drive. He was quirky and eccentric but he was my buddy. The quintessential Mr Chips-elbow patches on his suits as well. I loved this man and I will miss him. I hope his family reads this. Good bye Mr Chips.

Sad news. Worked with "KW" in North York many years ago ... great memories of him and a good History Department.
