KENNETH MARTIN IVESUnexpectedly, while doing what he loved, meeting with friends in Owen Sound on March 29, 2011 in his 77th year. Ken of Owen Sound. Beloved husband of Daphne (nee Goodger) for 53 years. Dear father of Glenn and his wife Katherine, John and his wife Lynn, Lynn Amanda and her husband Tony Di Iorio and Ian and his wife Lori. Loving Grandad of 15 treasured grandchildren: Geoffrey, William, Sydney, Mark, Anna Jane, Gabrielle, Torrin, Victoria, Samuel, Tegan, Andrew, Noelle, Thomas, Katherine and Owen. Ken was born August 3, 1934 in London, England within the sound of the Bow Bells and emigrated to Canada with Daphne in 1969 to make a new life for their young family. After moving to Port Elgin in 1976, Ken spent 21 years at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station with Ontario Hydro. While in Port Elgin Ken was involved with and committed to his community and friends. St. John's Anglican Church and the choir, Probus, Saugeen Golf Club and Port Elgin Curling Club had a special place in Ken's heart. He was well-known for his love of golf, travel, his garden and his fierce pride in his family. Ken will be fondly remembered by family and friends for his amusing commentary, perfectly timed and irreverent humour and steadfast loyalty. He will be remembered by all with a smile. Visitors are welcome at the St. John's Anglican Church Hall, 516 Mill Street, Port Elgin, Ontario on Friday April 1, 2011 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Port Elgin United Church, 840 Bruce Street on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m..
