Kevin WATSON Obituary

KEVIN JOHN WATSON
(1969-2012)
Kevin died calmly and peacefully at home on May 10, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief but dignified struggle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife Christi, his son Owen Colin, his daughter Frances, his mother Kathleen McGregor (John), his father Colin (Barbara), his brothers Christopher (Meredith), Matthew (Grace), his nephews Kieran, Charlie and Taiga, his nieces Sadie, Olivia, Gwyneth and Masami, his step-sister Tracy, and his step-brother Michael. He will also be sadly missed by his mother- in-law Liz and his brother-in-law Robby (Kirsten). Kevin grew up in Toronto, attended ESA and graduated from UBC. While in Vancouver he developed his craving for skiing, cycling and the outdoors. Upon graduation, after a year of world travelling with his brother Matthew, he returned to Toronto. He capitalized on his creative side by entering the media business and ultimately became Creative Director at Shaw Media with responsibility for a number of specialty channels. Over the years he completed three marathons, numerous triathlons and was an active cycle-cross competitor until his diagnosis. Kevin was self- admittedly a happy and fulfilled guy in every way. His family, friends, colleagues and competitors will miss him terribly. The family expresses their thanks to Dr. John Bryson and the staff at Princess Margaret Hospital, as well as Dr. Bernie Gosevitz for their determined and loving care. A private family interment will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A celebration of Kevin's life will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Lambton Golf Club, 100 Scarlett Rd., Toronto from 2:00-5:00 p.m. For those who wish, donations may be made to Max and Beatrice Wolf Children's Centre at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Kevin blogged his passage from diagnosis to passing on 'the pancreatictimes.blogspot.com'. On- line condolences may be made through
