Krino KAFATO

Krino Kafato, MD
Passed away peacefully on May 9, 2017 at his home in Burlington, Ontario at age 93. Born in Trabzon, Turkey, he moved to Canada in 1956. Krino was the fifth and youngest child of Anesti and Dikranuhi (Kasapian), he is predeceased by his siblings; Roberto, Louisa, Antonio, and Anaise. Krino leaves behind his devoted wife of 59 years, June (née MacPherson); his children, Robert (Mara), Caroline (Calum), Anthony (Lori), and David; his grandchildren, Samantha (Matthew), Marley, Stephanie, Julia and Katelyn; his great-grandson, Colin Krino; and many others who fondly knew him as 'Uncle Krino' or 'Krino Umca'. Krino will be remembered for his positivity, his love of his family and friends, genuine concern for his patients, dedication to the medical profession, and his many contributions to the community. Special thank you to Doctor Patterson and his team at St. Peter's Hospital, Hamilton and Doctors Swanson, Bartens and Ludlow in Burlington. Our deepest appreciation to everyone who cared for Krino in his final years to realize his wish to remain at home.
