LEO CHAIKOF

Passed away peacefully at home, on August 22, 2025, at the age of 96. Beloved husband of 70 years to Bayla (z"l). Cherished son of the late Harry and Mania Chaikof; and dear brother of Estee Klein and Ruth Silverberg. Loving father and father-in-law of Elliot and Melissa Chaikof, David and Ellen Chaikof, and Sari and Hal Springer. Beloved Zaidy Chick of Rachel and Alex, Adam and Allison, Jessica, Michael and Perri, Richie, Noah, Rosalie and Daniel, and Samuel. Proud great-grandfather of Hallie and Margot, and Sara. Leo enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a General Surgeon, first at Doctors' Hospital and later at Toronto Western and Mount Sinai Hospitals. He was widely respected for his skill, dedication, and legendary sense of humor, and remembered most for the kindness and respect he extended to patients, colleagues, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West (three lights west of Dufferin) for service on Monday, August 25th, at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Beth Tzedec Memorial Park. Our family would like to extend our gratitude to Leo's outstanding caregivers: Rhea, Rose May, Robert, Helen and Felly, and to the doctors and nurses from the UHN palliative care team.
