DAVIES, Leonard S., M.D., FRCS(C) May 8, 1921 - December 16, 2009 Gold Key Medalist, University of Toronto Medical School Graduate 1944. Captain, Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps., 1945 - 1946. Chief of Orthopaedics, Scarborough General Hospital, 1965 - 1985


Passed away in his 88th year at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Michael's Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Yvonne Davies and devoted father to the late Benson Davies. He leaves behind his cherished daughter and son-in-law, Helen and David Miller, and his precious granddaughters, Hayley and Whitney Miller. He faced recent health problems with great dignity, strength and courage, the same qualities he used throughout his life. His family would like to thank Dr. Gabor Kandel at St. Michael's Hospital for his extraordinary help, care and compassion. In keeping with Leonard's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family welcomes friends to pay their respects on Thursday, December 17 and Friday, December 18, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at 99 Arjay Cres., Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael's Hospital Foundation, 30 Bond St., Toronto, Ontario M5B 1W8.
