Leonard TYRRELL Obituary

LEONARD GORDON TYRRELLBA, BCom1925 - 2017
Died peacefully, surrounded by his wife Cavell, and sons Paul, and Chris, on Saturday, December 30, 2017. He will be missed by his wife (of over 65 years) Cavell, and 3 sons Paul (Ann), Chris and Edward, and his 4 grandchildren Nicole (Pete), Laura, Alexa, and Benjamin, and his sisters Nancy and Sylvia, and his brother Brian (Fran). He was predeceased by his son David, and sister Pam (Alan). Len was a dynamic force in IBM's office products division for over 30 years, winning many awards for top sales over the years. He loved his work as he walked everywhere downtown in the Bay and King area's then new office towers, cold calling and charming prospective buyers as only he could. On weekends year round he could be found at the 'farm', near Minden, Ontario enjoying the country; as well, his passion for canoe-tripping in Temagami, and Algonquin Park led to 10-day wilderness experiences for his wife and 4 sons, who learned to share his love for these places of incredible beauty. Sadly, he suffered from dementia in his final years but would, at the mention of Temagami, 'light up' and smile. A private funeral for family will take place on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. A memorial service to which all are invited will take place at Christie Gardens Retirement Home, 602 Melita Cres, 2 p.m., January 13 or 14. Contact Chris Tyrrell for more details at 416-556-4887 (phone or text), or Paul Tyrrell at p [email protected].
