LESLEY ILSE WYLE We are sad to announce the passing of Lesley Ilse Wyle on Saturday, June 18, 2022. To the end, Lesley had a zest for life which she shared with her family and everyone who was lucky enough to know her. Lesley, formerly Ilse Eisinger, was born 101 years ago in Vienna, Austria. At 17 years of age, following the annexation of Austria by the Nazis, she was forced to flee her home and family. Lesley was a model of resilience - she not only survived, but thrived in her new life. Finding refuge first in England, she obtained caregiving jobs, then found work as a translator for the BBC Monitoring Service, and next as translator/interpreter for the US Army of Occupation in Germany. In 1948, Lesley moved to Toronto. She married Paul (1920 - 1990), also a Jewish newcomer. The couple had one beloved daughter, Deborah. In Canada, Lesley worked for many years as an editor before founding her own company helping people write and publish their life stories. In her 90's, Lesley culminated her achievements by becoming an author herself, and at 100 years of age, published her memoir. Lesley lived her life fully, joyfully, and with strength and determination. She loved to travel and spend time with her time with family and friends, especially her daughter and grandchildren. Lesley will be remembered by her daughter Deborah, her son-in-law Michael, grand-children Benjamin, Rebecca and her fiance Joel, brother Joseph, and his family Styra, Alison, Simon, Sumathi, Dashiell and Arlo, and many friends. The family would like to thank all of Lesley's caregivers, especially the devoted Barley who supported her desire to live to the end of her life in her home, with dignity, comfort, and care. We also thank Dr. Arvanitis from the Tammy Latner Centre for Palliative Care who was such a gentle and knowledgeable guide through a difficult time. In lieu of flowers, we suggest a donation in Lesley's name to the Tammy Latner Centre for Palliative Care:
