Lillian STOICHEFF Obituary
Lillian Joan Stoicheff
Lillian Joan Stoicheff (née Ambridge) January 2, 1930 - May 18, 2011 Peacefully, surrounded by her family, in Saskatoon, at the age of 81. Beloved mother of Peter, mother-in-law of Kathryn Warden, grandmother of Alixandra and Christopher. Predeceased by her devoted husband Boris, parents William and Elizabeth Ambridge, and brother Richard Ambridge. Joan was born in Ottawa, where she attended Lisgar Collegiate, met her future husband and began raising a family. She later obtained her library diploma in Toronto, where she worked for many years as a librarian and an active volunteer for Women's College Hospital. She had a deep appreciation for art and literature, and for the values of education, which she passed on to her son and grandchildren. She loved playing the piano, painting, years of family holidays in Naples, Florida, and the many wonderful travels throughout the world with her husband. A gracious, elegant and caring woman, she had a quick wit and a strong spirit. The family would like to thank the staff of Stensrud Lodge for their extraordinary care. A private memorial will be held at a later time. Arrangements entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home, (306) 244-5577.
