LINDA GRASLEY Obituary
Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Friend (née FitzGerald) (January 7, 1939 – September 26, 2025) After a second, short battle with cancer, Linda passed away peacefully at home at the age of 86. She is survived by her son, Michael (Debra); her daughter, Carolyn (Keri Lynn); and cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Ash, Skyler, Ben, and Sam. Born on the eve of World War II, Linda grew up in North Toronto and attended Havergal College, graduating in 1957. She then attended the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, studying languages, with a minor in skiing. She returned briefly to Toronto, then moved to San Francisco, where she started out working for Richard Nixon's election committee. After three years in California, Linda returned to Canada to work for Shell Oil. Linda met Robert Grasley through the Ski Patrol, and they were married in August 1966. In October 1967, they moved to Paris, France, but the simmering unrest made them decide to move to London, England, where Michael and Carolyn were born. The family returned to Canada in late 1971. After a varied career that culminated in 14 years at CompCorp, Linda retired in 2004, and immediately became busier than ever, enjoying bridge, the opera and symphony, lunches and dinners with friends, world-wide travel, and volunteering for a variety of organizations; activities she enjoyed as long as she could. Many thanks to Dr. Bell, Dr. Arya, the palliative care team at North York General Hospital, and all the nurses for their encouragement and understanding these last few weeks. A funeral service will be held at St. John's York Mills (19 Don Ridge Drive, North York) on Thursday, October 16, at 11:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to North York General Hospital Foundation or to St. John's York Mills Anglican Church.
