Lionel NEWTON Obituary

Passed away peacefully, on August 2, 2024. He lived life to the fullest and will be fondly remembered for his infectious smile, generosity of spirit and genuine love of people. He is survived by his beloved wife, Petra; cherished children, Samantha and Zachary, and their spouses, Matthew and Caitlin; and his adored grandchildren, Parker, Isla, Evelyn, and Emmett. Lionel was a multifaceted man with diverse interests. He was a proud member of the Granite Club Masters Swim Team, an avid sailor and art aficionado. Lionel made a significant contribution to his profession, achieving an FCA designation, was a long-standing lecturer at the Institute of Chartered Accountants and President of the International Association of Accountants and Auditors. The funeral will be held on Monday, August 5th, at 2:30 p.m. at Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West. I just found out about Lionel´s passing. I am heart broken. I have known Lionel since the late 90s as he provided exemplary service to my taxation needs and other financial matters. A kind hearted man of virtue and integrity. He will be sorely missed.

Dear Petie,
I have just now learned about this sad news . I am really very sorry and sad about his surprising and unexpected passing away. LIonel has been a comrade within our INAA Organisation, he accompanied me and supported me for many years and I am thankful that I had the honour to be part of his friendship. I have lost a friend and not me alone, we all loved him and his friendly character.
I will really miss him, he will be always on my mind.

Dear Petra,
We were very sorry to hear about Lionels passing away.
We have known Lionel for about 30 years. Lionel was a very active member of INAA and we share many good memories of all the meetings where we met him. Especially the INAA meeting in Toronto.
Lionel always showed a big interest in many things. For me was talking about dentistry/implants the topic.
He will be sincerely missed.

Dear Pitie,
