I met Lloyd back in the eighties when my partner worked for him and Jim in the vet practice. I remember him as a kind and strong man, working long hours at the clinic or on the road and managing his farm. I remember him telling me that his employees should never work harder than the clinic owner and I respected him as a fair and honest man. There were so many funny stories of the large animal vets on the roads especially in winter when the roads were closed by the OPP and the Markdale boys were sneaking along the backroads still doing their calls. I remember meeting his wife Gay. I thought she was so beautiful and sophisticated coming to the clinic in a stunning pair of red suede boots. I thought she was so cool and I bought a red pair of boots myself the following year to wear in the winter. I lost my partner after only 10 years in practice but I remembered all the crazy stories from those days in the Markdale practice where my newly graduated spouse learned the ropes of vet med, which drove him to go back to school to become a pathologist. It was very hard work but it was very rewarding spiritually and physically.
Many years have passed by, but I remember Lloyd with the many shared memories of the time and I offer condolences to the family. I share in your loss because in such a brief moment of time, a few short years, I was touched by Lloyd and found myself wondering what he was up to in that moment of time.

It saddens me deeply for the world has lost a great person and outstanding Veterinarian. As a young horse owner I saw Lloyd from time to time and he was always amazing, walked in, kept me calm and proceeded to provide amazing animal care.
The Heavens above has received a great person who will be sorrily missed. God does great plans for great people!

Dear Geelke and family, we like to send our sincere condolences for the loss of dear Lloyd!! He will greatly be missed by al of you and all of his dear friends. We remember so we'll all the nice gatherings we had with you two, last lunch in Maastricht, and October 2019 with Mora and Willard. And the special bond there was between Lloyd and Willard was so warm and nice to see. We hardly can imagine the fact that Lloyd is gone but he will be forever in our memories with a smile and a warm heart. We wish you all strength and support to cope with Lloyd's loss and may all the good memories comfort you. Warm hugs and love, Trudie and Frans
