GUTHRIE, Lorna Jean (nee Knight)
Died peacefully in Guelph on Monday, August 7, 2006, after a courageous battle with lymphoma. She was a generous, kind and loving wife, mother and best friend to Hugh, her husband of 45 years, and to her daughters, Lorna Margaret (Muffie) and Patricia Ann. Mom loved her dogs, horses, friends and community with unwavering loyalty. She was a successful businesswoman and owner of Knight Lumber, the family business for three generations. Mom was a competitive athlete, avid patron of musical theatre and lover of the ritual Sunday family dinner. Her strength, graciousness and smile will be missed by all who knew her. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL - McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday). Service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 161 Norfolk Street, Guelph on Friday, August 11 at 1:30 p.m. with The Rev. John Borthwick officiating. Cremation with inurnment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or The Guelph Community Foundation would be appreciated.
