Lorne died peacefully at Hill House Hospice surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Imbi and the loving father of Lee (Linda), Linda Carr (Tom), Wendy (Mike) and Susan. Grandfather of Elyse, Nicole, Claire, Amber, Yasmin and Tallys.
  Lorne was born in Toronto educated at Bowmore Road Public School, Riverdale Collegiate Institute, Victoria College, University of Toronto B Comm. 1952, CA 1955. FCA 1973. Price Waterhouse and Co. 1952-1956 and IBM Canada 1956-1988 where he became Chairman, President and CEO from 1972-1986 for 14 years. He served as Director of IBM, Shell Canada, Royal LePage, London Insurance, Tambrands, The Toronto Sun, The Financial Post, Lonvest Corp., TD Bank, Thomson Newspapers Ltd., Security Pacific Bank and Spencer Stuart. His past community affiliations include service on the Board of The Wellesley Hospital, The Olympic Trust of Canada and as a Trustee with The Fraser Institute. A private funeral was held and cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life to be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at The Beacon Hall Golf Club, 400 Beacon Hall Drive Aurora, ON L4G 0L3.
