LOUETTA FRANCES Obituary

FRANCES LOUETTA MATHERS
FRANCES LOUETTA MATHERS (nee Halsall) 1938 - 2005 Our very special wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many, passed away peacefully, in the arms of her loving family, on Sunday, July 24, 2005, at St. Mary's General Hospital, at the age of 66 years, following a brief illness.
Daughter of Francis and Constance Halsall, who predeceased her, Fran will be greatly missed, but will always be remembered adoringly by her husband of 44 years, Dr. Kerry S. Mathers of Kitchener. She will be especially missed by her caring sons, Shawn Mathers of Kitchener and Jeff Mathers of Toronto. Happy memories of 'Ma' will always be cherished by her wonderful grandchildren, David and Kerilynn Mathers, with whom she shared a very special relationship that meant so much to her. She will also be missed dearly by her brother Peter Halsall and his wife Sesse, nephew Andrew Halsall and sister-in-law, Robin Provencal of Ottawa.
Fran was a graduate of the University of Toronto, earning her Degree in Physical and Health Education, and after devoting her life to her children and family for many years, she was a successful and highly respected real estate agent in Waterloo Region for the past 22 years. She also made time to volunteer and support many organizations in the community, and was truly an outwardly generous and caring person to all of whom she met, friends and strangers alike. Her dedication and kindness to her family and friends was beyond comparison.
She will be remembered with lasting love by her husband Kerry, who remembers his beautiful wife as a member of the Pi Beta Phi Women's Fraternity, Varsity Cheerleader, loyal wife, incredible homemaker, and especially for her love of music, photography, and the arts. She will be missed by everyone who loved her. Her ever present smile, humour, and character will always be part of those who Fran touched while on this earth.
The family will be receiving friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home on Thursday, July 28, 2005, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The funeral service to honour Fran's life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 50 Erb Street West, Waterloo, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2005. Immediately following the service, a celebration of Fran's special life will take place at the Westmount Golf and Country Club in Kitchener.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Frances Mathers Memorial Fund at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo. The family would also welcome donations to the Intensive Care Unit at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, Ontario.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the doctor's and nursing staff at St. Mary's General Hospital for their compassion and professionalism while caring for Fran during her brief illness.
'Until we meet again 'Ma', our many wonderful memories of you and your beautiful smile will be in our hearts forever.'
