Lucetta GELLER Obituary

LUCETTA GRACE GELLER (nee Jennings) It is with great sadness that the family of Lucetta Grace Geller (nee Jennings) announces her passing on July 6, 2022. Lucetta died, as she lived - on her own terms, and with grace and dignity. Lucetta will be lovingly and forever remembered by her beloved husband of 40 years, Lawrence; and by her siblings, Christine Hargan (Brian), Tom Jennings (Maura), Hillary Jennings (the late John Jennings), Gordon Jennings, and Geraldine McSporran (Douglas McSporran). Also, by sisters- in-law and brothers-in-law, Dana Lampe (Jonathan), Jan Babins (Gerry) and Harold Geller (Susan Tatryn); and by her numerous nieces and nephews, many dear friends, and family members. Lucetta was the loving and devoted daughter, and daughter-in- law, of the late Grace and Thomas Jennings of Jordanstown, Northern Ireland, where she grew up and the late Jack and Sybil Geller. With a background in art and ecclesiastical embroidery, Lucetta made her living as a seamstress when she first immigrated to Canada and had an enduring passion, and respect, for fashion, fabrics, and a straight, well sewn, seam. Her collecting was often, although not always, in some way related to fashion and fabrics. As a young woman Lucetta worked to try to end sectarianism at home in Ireland, and for the remainder of her life was a champion of, and friend to, anyone who needed help in any way. Lucetta and Lawrence shared a passion for life - for walking the streets of cities, towns and villages, collecting, travel, skiing, bicycling, friends and family - and pursued it all with vigour until recently. A private funeral has been held. Virtual Shiva and Celebration of Lucetta's Life: Friday, July 8, 8 a.m. (family only); Sunday, July 10, 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and Monday, July 11, 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please contact [email protected] for information and to book a time. Donations to the Salvation Army, any food bank, or a Charity of Your Choice. "Now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." "Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction." "All grown-ups were once children... but only few of them remember it." "It is time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important." "What makes the desert beautiful,' said the little prince 'is that somewhere it hides a well..." "The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart." It is with great sadness I learned of Lucetta´s passing today. I will cherish the memories of when we met in Dublin for lunch over the years, Covid put a stop to those, we would sit and chat for hours. There was little she did not know about scarf patterns, quality etc. may her sweet soul rest in peace, suaimhneas síoraí dá hanam dhilís.
