MABEL HARRIS Obituary

DR. MABEL 'JOYCE' HARRIS Joyce slipped away on December 21, 2023, after a brief illness. Joyce was proud to have been born in Bonavista, Newfoundland. She graduated from Dalhousie Medical School in 1961, and thereafter obtained her specialist qualifications in Anesthesiology in 1965. After a period working at Stratford General Hospital, she moved to The Queensway General Hospital where she became Chief of Anesthesiology. She retired in 1998. Joyce leaves behind colleagues, family and friends who are richer for having had her in their lives. She was one of a kind. A memorial page can be viewed online at: www.smithsfh.com. In accordance with her wishes, Joyce's body has been cremated and her ashes will be taken 'home' to Bonavista to be buried with her parents. A Celebration of Life will be held for her in Mississauga on a date to be set in February or March. Details will be placed in the online memorial once available.
