I am so sad upon learning of Marcus's passing. I knew him as kid when he would see me to help with his athletic performance. He was soooo keen on being world class professional soccer player. We would chat about life and education and opportunities... how he struggled with not wanting to disappoint his dad because he did not want go into dentistry... but follow his own path. We would arm wrestle and even though I had 50 pounds on him, he would keep trying.
I see by many of the commentaries posted here that Marcus has been an inspiration to others, which speaks of his genuine good character.
Marcus will be missed.
My dearest sympathies to Eleanor and Farel, and Marcus's wife and children.... and to all who loved him.

Marcus Anderson is a King. An eternal spirit that lives on in us. Marcus and I first met Frosh Week, UofT in 1987 and he let me crash at his dorm in UC, Sir Daniels. He was my first best friend at undergrad and although I moved overseas, we kept in touch over the past 31 years. Marcus excelled in many areas, such as academics, sports and business. Most of all, it is his courage and indomitable spirit that shined the most, which led him to do things very few in Canada dare: form a successful tech enterprise. Plus he was kind hearted and knew how to have fun and jokes with friends and family. He is a homeboy from The Six and from Collingwood. Totally unique unforgettable human being. Our warm condolences go out to Edilka and their Children and to Mrs. and Mr. Anderson.

After hearing everyones touching speeches and reading the obituaries, it really hit home. I met him 13 years ago when I was 16 and struggling. He gave me the hope and confidence to become who I am today. Fake it till you make it! If he never said these words I wouldve never been able to accomplish what I did at such a young age. He wrote my resumes and taught me how to write contracts, let me use his fax number and so much more! He always gave me amazing advice. He was a huge influence and Ill never forget him. I wish he got a chance to meet my future husband. We were planning a get together but he was taken too soon. I believe he is looking down on us all now. I will always keep him and his family in my heart. I will pray that they will find the strength to get through each and every day. There arent many people in this world that could say they actually changed peoples lives and he is someone that had an impact like no other. You will be missed and I promise to make you proud!

" I met Marcus on my first day at the University of Toronto St George Campus at a "7 AM" Calculus tutorial where Marcus was engaged in an all out argument with the T.A . I immediately introduced myself after the class and the rest is history.
Marcus not only became my university colleague but he also became my " older" brother, mentor and confidante. He was always very thoughtful and sensitive underneath his sometimes brash and assertive personality. He was always driven and made it clear to me that one should always create their own path to success through hard work and discipline.
I will miss his presence, guidance and intelligent wit. He accomplished so much during his 50+ years on this earth. He has undoubtedly left his mark . His memory , essence and legacy will live on through his family and his formidable business Broadplay.
I am honoured to have known him for my entire adult life.
On behalf of my wife Nadia and my sons Isaiah and Elijah I would like to extend my condolences to Edilka, Hayden, Evan, Sofia and Mr and Mrs Anderson.
