MARGARET YVONNE BLANCHETTE Yvonne died peacefully after a brief and unexpected illness on March 16, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Eileen Yearwood and was born in Barbados on November 14, 1947. Beloved wife to Victor and cherished mother to Anne-Marie, Michael-Lisle, Nicholas (Karen), Andrew (Kelly) and Phillip (Ana Maria). Treasured Granny/Grandma to Sophia, Lauren, Caitlin, Ava, Morgan, and Louis. Yvonne graduated from Queen's College in Barbados before starting a nursing career in London, England. Yvonne also made a valued contribution alongside her husband to The Division of Haematology/Oncology and The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. Most of all, Yvonne's greatest role was as a devoted wife, mother to her four sons, and grandmother to her six grandchildren. Yvonne was the superglue of our family and held us all together; we will do our best to continue her legacy. Yvonne will be remembered fondly by family and friends across the world, from Barbados to England to Australia to Canada. We will always cherish family trips to Hawaii, Alaska, the Lake District in England, Barbados, and numerous road trips across Canada and the United States. We also fondly remember Yvonne's love of the British royals, Harrods tea, books, puzzles, sudoku, photobooks, and famous Christmas and Thanksgiving turkey dinners, birthday and holiday celebrations. She built a home where people gathered, joked, laughed, and found comfort and love. "May you forever be in our hearts." The Blanchette family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Drs. Keith McIntyre, Eric Horlik, Tyrone David, Sarah Mitchell, Lynne Benjamin, Atika Malik, the Sunnybrook Hospital, and all of Yvonne's nursing and support teams. They all treated Yvonne and her family with such grace. A special mention to the palliative care service at Ian Anderson House in Oakville, who made Yvonne's final days ones of calm and peace, and allowed her family invaluable final moments with Yvonne. A private service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 in the Chapel at Royal St. George's College, 120 Howland Avenue, Toronto. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made to the Ian Anderson House (
